Jayne M. Atwood Obituary

Vernon-Jayne M. Atwood, age 63, of N. Sconondoa Street passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning February 25, 2025 in the comfort of her home with her husband and children at her side after a six-year battle with cancer.


She was born on February 15, 1962 in Rome, New York a daughter of Nazie and Connie (Light) Adolfi and was a graduate of Oriskany High School.


On July 7, 1990 Jayne and Christopher M. Atwood were united in marriage and have shared this loving union of nearly thirty-five years together.


Prior to her health-related disability Jayne was employed as a purchasing agent with Rome Research and PAR Government Systems Corporation.


In her spare times she enjoyed cross country skiing, hiking and spending time wither family.


Surviving is her husband, Chris Atwood of Vernon, one son, Kyle Atwood of Vernon and daughter Emily Atwood of NYC; one sister Karen Adolfi-Barth of Fl., one brother Nazie Adolfi III of Camden, mother-in-law, Sandra Atwood, brothers-in-law, Robert Atwood and Ken Atwood, best friend Dee Fitzgerald, one godson and goddaughter, 11 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and great-nephews and one great-great-niece.


In keeping with Jayne's wishes there will be no public services. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
