Canastota - Richard W. Barron, age 62, of Beebe Bridge Road passed away unexpectedly in the Oneida Healthcare emergency room after being stricken ill at work. He was born on April 1, 1962 in Utica, New York a son of Robert J. Sr. and Barbara (Kiehn) Barron and was a graduate of Westmoreland High School. Rich was employed as a shipping clerk with Bimbo Bakeries of Canastota for twenty years. In his spare time he enjoyed being the life of the party, enjoying a cold beer, and was an avid sports fan with his support going to the NY Jets and NY Yankees. He also enjoyed his special times with his children, grandchildren, working in the yard, and tinkering with needed repairs. Surviving is his one son, Travis (Alexa) Barron of Rome, one daughter, Claire (Shan) Barron of Canastota, two grandchildren, Shaye and Drew Barron, parents, Robert J. Sr. and Barbara Barron, brother, Robert J. Jr. (Beth) Barron, and sisters, Linda (Kevin) Kinsella, Donna Williams, and Wendy (Dan) Pennini, as well as, his canine companion Roxy and several nieces and nephews. The family will gather privately at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon. A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Monday March 10, 2025 at 2:oo pm at the Westmoreland Firehouse Pole Barn, 101 Station Rd. Westmoreland NY, 13490.
