Leona Newman Obituary
Vernon-Leona Newman of Curtis Road passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025.
Born in Carbondale, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late Leo and Stella Zielinski, a coal miner daughter.
She was united in marriage to Kenneth on January 27, 1979, a marriage of forty-six years.
Prior to her retirement, Leona was employed for several local doctors and for St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Leona enjoyed traveling with her husband to the Caribbean Islands and to their Florida home and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Kenneth, she is survived by two sons, Alan (Debra) Newman of Vernon and Aaron Newman of Cortland and Manhattan and three grandchildren, Nicholas, Nathan and Gracie, and brother William of Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents and brother Leon.
Per Leona's wished there will be no services and will be remembered privately by the family.
