Obituary of Esther R. Goodson

Clark Mills-Esther R. Goodson, passed away at the age of 100 early Monday morning March 31, 2025 in Wynn Hospital.

  She was born on May 26, 1924 in the Town of Schuyler a daughter of the late Fred and Ruth (Williams) Kane and was a graduate of Utica’s Proctor High School.

  On January 29, 1942 Esther and Charles Goodson were united in marriage in Utica, New York and shared that loving vow until Charles’ death in 1990.

  At an early age Esther worked for the Clinton Tailor Shop and retired from Miele Manufacturing.

  She enjoyed times spent with her family, reading, cooking and baking.

  Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Perry and Charles Story of Westmoreland, Charles Goodson of Fredericksburg, TX, Richard and Mary Goodson of Clinton, Ronald Goodson and Gloria Cook of North Brookfield and Kenneth and Constance Goodson of Cold Brook, 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  Esther was predeceased by her brothers Hamilton Kane, Harold Kane and Fred Kane; sisters Ida Doremus and Margaret Ludwig.

  In keeping with Esther’s wishes the family will gather privately at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon. Burial will follow in Kirkland Cemetery, Kirkland, NY. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
