Sherrill-Yvonne "Bonnie" DuChene, age 79 of Ransom Ave. passed away Friday morning April 4, 2025 in Wynn Hospital after a short illness.

She was born June 18,1945 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Benedict J. and Helen A. (Still) Kirk and was a Vernon Verona Sherrill graduate and received her paralegal certificate from Syracuse University.

On August 1, 1964 Bonnie and Lawrence F. DuChene were united in marriage in St. Patrick's Church in Oneida and shared that sacred vow until Larry's death on July 25, 2009.

Prior to her retirement Bonnie was employed as a paralegal with the office of Norman Deep Attorney at Law in Clinton, New York.

In her spare times she enjoyed boating and fishing at her camp at Otter Lake in the Adirondacks. Bonnie was a sports fan and followed the NY Yankees, the Buffalo Bills and the Boston Celtics. She also enjoyed feeding the squirrels and chipmunks at her home. She was a faith filed member of Spirit of Hope St. Helena's Parish in Sherrill.

Surviving are her two sons; Frank DuChene of Camilus and Joe DuChene of Oneida, one brother, Ed Kirk of Sherrill and four special friends, Norman Deep, Pat Northrup, Mary Shooshan and Lisa Edeline.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Wynn Hospital for their compassionate care given to Bonnie during her stay at the facility.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. James Buttner Celebrant at Spirit of Hope St. Helena's Church, 204 Primo Ave., Sherrill, NY.
