William F. Sweatman, 79 of Oneida Castle passed away Saturday afternoon, October 4, 2025 in St. Joseph's Health Hospital with his loving sons at his side.

Born to his late parents Curtis and Florence Sweatman on March 4, 1946, William spent his entire life residing in Oneida Castle. He was a Navy veteran, a longtime retiree from NY Telephone/Verizon and dedicated over sixty years to fire service, achieving the rank of Assistant Chief with the Oneida Castle Fire Department. He was especially proud of both of his sons who have carried on the family firefighting tradition. William also loved the "Tuesday Coffees" with the phone company guys. But most importantly he loved spending precious time with his two special grandsons.

He is survived by his two sons, Michael and Brian, both of Oneida and two grandson, Greyson and Kane.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 9, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc.,464 Sherrill Rd. Sherrill, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oneida Castle Cemetery, 2nd Ave., Oneida Castle, NY.
