Vernon-Ronald J. Czupryna, age 80 of Peterboro Street passed away early Saturday morning February 25, 2023 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. He was born on August 8, 1942 in New York Mills, New York a son of the late Joseph S. and Josephine (Cichon) Czupryna and graduated from New York Mills High School at the age of sixteen. After high school Ron served with the Army Reserves. On January 19, 1979 Ron and Mary Jane Stropera were united in marriage in Frankfort, New York and have shared this vow of forty-four years together. Prior to his retirement in 1999 Ron was a gas mechanic for the Niagara Mohawk Corporation (National Grid). In his spare time, he enjoyed attending the horse races at Vernon Downs and was a partner on a couple standout hoses, namely Bet Hallbrook, Lucky Victory and Dazzling Hooker. Ron enjoyed trips to the casino, after his retirement working on jigsaw puzzles and Wednesday coffee with his friends at the Nothing Fancy Café. Surviving is his wife, Mary Jane Czupryna of Vernon, one sister Judith Adang, his two nephews, Peter and David Adang all of Albuquerque, NM, his four sisters-in-law and their spouses, Kathleen Kirkland of Remsen, Suzanne Sack of New Hartford, Candice (Ed) Reel of Frankfort and Kimberly (Dino) LaBarbara of Whitesboro and several nieces and nephews. Mary Jane would like to express her gratitude to special friends and family who have helped Ron and her through some tough times, including Suzanne Sack, Dave Hoolihan, Susie Lopez and Matthew Casey. In keeping with Ron's wishes there will be no services at this time. A time in the future will be announced for a memorial mass. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon.
