Vernon-Laraine S. Smith, age 76, of Verona Street passed away unexpectedly late Wednesday evening October 23, 2024 in the Oneida Health after being stricken ill at her home.
She was born on July 6, 1948 in Rome, New York a daughter of James C. and Stacle (Marshall) Smith.
Laraine had an Irish personality and a nick name for her all her friends. She enjoyed coffee hour and programing at the Bridge Street Rehab. She most enjoyed getting her hair and nails done and wearing a nice perfume.
Surviving is her cousin Alfred "Spike" Priest Jr. and all her friends and staff at her home and programs.
Friends are invited to call on Thursday November 7, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Malecki Funeral Home, 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery Rt. 26 N. Stokes, NY. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
