Wesley L. Phillips

Sherrill- Wesley L. Phillips, age 84 of E. State St, passed away peacefully at the Oneida Healthcare Center on Sunday August 30, 2015, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on November 30, 1930 in Oneida, New York a son of the late Leonard and Agnes (Delaney) Phillips and was a graduate of Stockbridge Valley Central School.

Wesley proudly served his country with the United State Army during the Korean War.

On January 20, 1956 Wesley was united in marriage with Alice S. Thurston in Munnsville, New York and the couple has shared this loving union of nearly sixty years together.

Prior to his retirement Wesley was employed as an equipment operator with Munnsville Limestone Corp. of Munnsville.

Wes was an avid sportsman who enjoyed watching Yankee baseball, going to the stockcar races with his wife and going to Syracuse "Nats" basket ball games.

He is survived by his loving wife, Alice S. Thurston of Sherrill, one daughter Darla Oto of Mt. Kisco, NY, one grandson Evan Oto also of Mt. Kisco, New York, one brother Walter Phillips of Canastota, one sister Betty Gillette of Chittenango and several nieces and nephews.

Wesley was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Glynn and Charlotte Strong and one brother Harley Phillips.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, NY 13461. Mr. Phillips' funeral service will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., Sherrill, NY. Burial with military honors will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida, New York.
