Susan M. Garner

Sherrill-Susan M. Garner, age 68, of Cherry lane passed away peacefully Sunday evening September 6, 2015 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on December 11, 1946 in Oneida, New York a daughter of John R. and Marion (Reese) Miller and was a graduate of V.V.S. Central School and Albany Business College.

On August 19, 1967 Susan and Timothy Garner were united in marriage in Sherrill, New York and have shared a loving relationship of over forty-eight years together.

After working several different jobs in her young business career Susan joined the Oneida Limited Silversmith's in 1978 and enjoyed her career as the employment manager until her retirement in 2009.

She was a very active member of St. Helena's Church where she served with different groups and committees including RCIA, and a catechist for the first grade Faith Formation Class.

In her spare time she enjoyed antiquing, shopping, attending craft show, exercising and walking to stay in shape, decorating her home and gardening. But first and foremost she enjoyed her time spent with her family.

Surviving are her husband Tim Garner of Sherrill, one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer ( Tony) Troilo of MA, one son Jeff Garner and his fiancé Michael Cross of Kenwood, three adored grandchildren Katelyn Troilo, Lia Troilo and Charlotte Garner of MA, her mother Marion Miller of Sherrill, three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Linda (Art) Winterton , Pamela (James) Kines , and Lori Leonard all of Sherrill, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law ,Kathy Garner, and Sue (John )Campanie all of Kenwood and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helena's Church Primo Ave, Sherrill, NY. Burial will follow in St. Helena's Cemetery, Middle Road, Oneida, NY.
