Sherrill-Genevieve B. Grisenthwaite, age 95, a lifelong Sherrill resident and more recently of the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility passed away Tuesday, afternoon September 15, 2015 in the nursing facility.


She was born in Niagara Falls, New York on January 10, 1920 a daughter of the late William and Jennie (Nagelhouse) Brott and moved to Sherrill at a very young age. Gen attended St. Patrick's School in Oneida and was a graduate of Sherrill High School.


In 1941 Genevieve and Orville R. Grisenthwaite were united in marriage. Orville passed away on April 25, 1990.


Prior to her retirement Genevieve was a secretary with the Oneida Limited Silversmiths sales office retiring in 1983.


She enjoyed being with her family, cooking, going for car rides with her daughter and doing cross word puzzles.


Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Marsha and Barry Miller of Sherrill, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.


Genevieve was predeceased by two sons, Gene in 1989 and Daniel in 2012.


The family would like to thank the staff of the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility for their wonderful care during Gen's residency.


At Gen's request there will be no public calling hours. There will be a graveside service at a predetermined date in Valley View Cemetery, Middle Road, Oneida, New York. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
