John D. Stone

Vienna-John D. Stone, age 66, of Cove Road passed away early Saturday morning October 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on July 13, 1949 in Utica, New York a son of Harold A. and Teresa (Spine) Stone. He was a graduate of V.V.S. School.

John joined Rome Strip Steel on September 8, 1970 and retired on August 3, 2012 with nearly forty-two years of service.

In his spare time John enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, fishing, his old cars and especially enjoyed his times spent with his family and friends.

Surviving are his beloved wife Jeanne Stone, three daughters, Melanie Stone, Tammy French and Denise French and one son Aaron Stone all of Rome; his mother Teresa Stone, one sister, Karen (Gary) Chapney of Vernon, eight grandchildren, Brandon, Zachary, Justin, Amanda, Connor, Cameron, Carter and Alyssa and one great-granddaughter Juno. John leaves longtime friends, Jim Miller, Wayne Lust and George Evans.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill. John's funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Sherrill. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida, NY.
