Daryl V. Smith

Vernon Center- Daryl V. Smith age 71, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2015 at his residence on Barr Rd, in Vernon Center.

He was born in Syracuse, NY on September 9, 1944, a son of the late C. Velton and Marjorie Smith. He was educated locally at Stockbridge Valley Central School.

Daryl was united in marriage to Jessica Bartlett on November 4, 1998 in Sherrill, NY.

Daryl was a Teacher at the Madison-Oneida BOCES, a position from which he retired from in 1998. He also owned and operated his own beef farm at his residence on Barr Rd. Daryl was extremely passionate about his farm and was a member of the FFA.

Survived are his wife Jessica, his children Daryl D. Smith of Vernon Center, Adam Smith of Munnsville, Ken Smith of Munnsville, Marjorie Bean of Clockville, Abigail Smith of Vernon Center, and David Smith of Vernon Center, one sister Velma Putman of Gouverneur, NY, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday November 19, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc. 464 Sherrill Road, Sherrill, NY 13461. A funeral service officiated by Pastor David Johnson will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at the conclusion of calling hours. Daryl will be laid to rest on Friday November 20, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in Stockbridge Cemetery, Middle Rd. Stockbridge, NY. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com.
