I worked for Jack many years ago. He had such a wonderful memory. He knew every horse in the stable and what they wore. He really understood his horses and knew what to do to drive them successfully. When training and good care and hands were what it took to be a successful trainer/driver he was better than anyone else. He always said it was in the hands, but I know, for him, it was also his innate ability to read a horse and the competition that made him such a big success. Any time he gave me a new opportunity do something more with a horse I was taking care of, I felt privileged. I feel very honored to be able to say that I worked for him and could call this great horseman my friend.
He will be missed.
