Obituary of Barbara C. Richmond

Barbara C. Richmond Vernon- Barbara C. Richmond, age 87, of Black Ave W, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2015 at the Oneida Healthcare Facility. Barbara was born on May 16, 1928 in Oneida, NY, a daughter of the late Elda Goulette. She attended and graduated from Oneida High School. On July 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harold "Butch" Richmond in Oneida, and the couple shared a loving union of 67 years together. She was employed as an executive secretary for Oneida Limited, a position she held until her retirement in 1988. Barbara belonged to the Vernon United Methodist Church, and played a very active role in the church. She also belonged to the Westmoreland Country Club. In her free time she enjoyed playing the organ, playing board games, square dancing, bowling, and playing bingo. She really enjoyed spending her winters in Florida with her husband. Barbara also enjoyed traveling all over the world. She is predeceased by her mother Elda Goulette, and a brother Lewis Curtis. Barbara is survived by her husband Harold, a sister Doris Mills of North Carolina, two sister-in-law's Isabel and James Scheid of Canastota, Elsie Brown of Clinton, special niece's Sandra Borys of Sherrill, and Charlene Bhuiyan of Vernon, also many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday December 18, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 pm at the Malecki Funeral Home, Inc. 23 Front St. Vernon, NY 13476. Barbara's funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm immediately following calling hours at the funeral home, where Rev. Frank Loan will officiate. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge, NY.
