Obituary of John A. Wright

John "Jack" Wright Sherrill-John A. "Jack" Wright, age 92, passed away Sunday morning April 10, 2016 in the Oneida Healthcare ECF. He was born of November 6, 1923 in Oneida, New York, son of the late C. Stanley and Viola (Tipple) Wright and attended Sherrill High School. Jack proudly served his country with the Army Corp of Engineers from 1944-1946 in the European Theatre. On July 11, 1953 he was united in marriage with Leone A. Jones in the Plymouth Alliance Church of Sherrill and the couple has shared a loving union of over sixty two years together. Jack retired from Sears Oil Company where he served as a driver and dispatcher for many years. He was very handy with his hands and enjoyed woodworking and remodeling. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Surviving is his beloved wife, Leone J. Wright of Sherrill, two daughters, Kathleen Wright of Sherrill and Marilyn Wright of Sodus, several nieces and nephews, including special nephew Thomas (Maryann) Parker of Ridgeway, PA and niece Karen (John) Wellman of Verona. Jack was predeceased by his two sisters, Lottie Mae Parker and Mary Jane Miller. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday April 14, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Road., Sherrill, NY. Jack's funeral service will be at 1:00 at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida, New York.
