Obituary of Linda A. Adams

Linda A. Adams Sherrill - Linda A. Adams, age 73, of Sherrill passed away peacefully Tuesday morning July 5, 2016 in Crouse Hospital after an extended illness. She was born on May 11, 1943 in Ilion, New York, the daughter of the late Richard and Eva (Hofstra) McCloud. Linda was a graduate of the Ilion Schools where she met her future husband, Ralph L. Adams, Jr. in the fifth grade. The friends became inseparable and both graduated from Ilion High School in 1961. Linda and Ralph both attended and graduated from SUNY Albany; Linda in 1965 and Ralph in 1966. After Ralph's graduation, the couple was united in marriage in Ilion. In 1970, they moved to Sherrill, where they built their home, started a family and continued their careers as teachers at VVS High School. The couple spent thirty-two years teaching at VVS before their retirement in 1998. In retirement, the couple was still inseparable at their home in Sherrill where Linda enjoyed her time being a dedicated quilter, producing numerous beautiful quilts. Surviving are her husband, Ralph L. Adams, Jr. of Sherrill, one son and daughter-in-law, Richard (Shanna) Adams of Verona and two beloved grandsons, Brady and Peyton Adams. Calling hours are scheduled for Saturday, July 9 from 1 to 4 PM at the family home, where many of Linda's quilts will be on display. Interment and a short service will be at Valley View Cemetery, Oneida on Monday, July 11 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice, in memory of Linda.
