Obituary of Robert P. Henry

Robert P. "Bob" Henry Canastota-Robert P. "Bob" Henry, age 76, formerly of Canal Street and more recently of The Grand at Rome nursing facility passed away early Friday morning September 16, 2016 at the nursing facility. He was born on November 30, 1939 in Syracuse, New York a son of the late Paul E. and Stella (Sojka) Henry and was a graduate of V.V.VS. Central School. From 1958 to 1962 Bob served with the U.S. Navy. Prior to his retirement he was employed as a sales representative for Upright Scaffolding of Syracuse. Bob was an avid boater, a fisherman who tied his own flies for fishing, an avid bow hunter who gave archery lessons and enjoyed camping and reading in his spare time. Surviving are one son Shawn Henry of Ticonderoga, one daughter Rhonda Henry of Fl., one grandson Nathan Henry, three brothers, Ronald Henry of Verona, Richard Henry of Canastota, Russell (Julie) Henry of Verona- and one sister Sharon Poulin of Colorado and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday September 20, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. Funeral Prayers will be offered by Rev. Edmund Castronovo Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home, Vernon Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery, Happy Valley Road, Verona, New York.
