Obituary of June S. Hanley

June S. Hanley New Hartford-June S. Hanley, age 85, beloved wife of Robert T. Hanley left this earth on Friday, October 7, 2016. She was born in rural North Fenton, New York on July 30, 1931 the fifth daughter of Gilbert and Theresa (Snow) Stahl. Her early years, along with her nine siblings were enjoyed with an amazing family gift of music. June, her father Gilbert and her siblings performed regionally singing harmonies and playing the piano. This gift of music gave June much joy and a special bond that drew her family together. June married husband Bob at the age of sixteen and together they created, owned and operated Willow Run Foods Inc. in Vestal, New York. For over fifty years the company grew successfully and evolved to be one of the largest independent wholesale food distributors in the northeast. Together they lovingly raised four children: Robert W. Hanley of Newport Beach, CA, Susan (Bruce) Hanley of Amherst, MA; Kathleen (Charles) Iles of Boonville, NY and Thomas (Jane) Hanley of Schenectady, NY. June portrayed a great example of a hard work ethic and keeping her family close knit was instilled in all her all children. Her beauty, her loving smile and strong character will never be forgotten. June leaves behind her husband Bob of sixty-eight years and her four children. She also leaves five treasured grandchildren, Lindsey June, Holly May and Alexander Robert, Sarah Grace and William. June is also survived by siblings Irene (Dick) Foster, Jane Treadwell, Jim Stahl, Rex (Judy) Stahl and Jean Pelham. June is also survived by brother-in-law Charley (Jane) Hanley, sister-in-law Jenny Stahl and many loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Marie, Grace, Gail and brother Jack. June's family also wants to thank caregiver Angela for her dedication while helping June in her home. In keeping with June's wishes there will be a memorial gathering, celebrating her life at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon on Tuesday October 11, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. June's family welcomes family and friends to share memories, pictures and stories of June's full life, well lived.
