Dear Vrooman Family,
I first met your Mom & Dad in early 1952 when my parents moved back to Canajoharie.I was amazed at what great an athlete your dad was and how much a beautiful mother you were to have,in Nola. Nola and some of her girlfriends taught me how to dance at our Youth Center, she would glide across the floor, never missing a beat. We lost contact for many years as we were raising our families. I reconnected with them in the early part of
1998 at a high school reunion after 45 years,we never lost contact since then. after your mom's death, your dad came to visit us in Reno,Nv for over a week,we had a great time. When I came back east, your Dad was one of the first I would call to arrange a get together for a meal or just sit and talk. A few years later my wife Sandy and I spent a month in Myrtle Beach,SC. Your dad came down from North Carolina to visit for several days,we didn't have enough time to tell each other what was going on in our lives. We seemed to be like brothers, talking about the good old days in Canajo, invoking names of our Buddy's whom we remembered fondly i.e. Dick Rutishauser,Don Creal,Hugh Lennon,Ron Hoffman and my cousin, Dan Horning. We had some great stories to tell of each of them as well as the girls of Canajo ! I was a bit younger than them, but I had a strong kinship to them,( my big brothers) I try to keep in touch with all of them to share cherished memories. I will miss our phone calls several times a month, but I will never forget your Mom and Dad. Heaven has a great man up there, spending eternity with your brothers and Mom. God's blessing's to you all.
With great love and respect,
Larry Horning
Reno,NV.

I loved this man. He taught with my mom at JD George and I loved the days when I could eat lunch with them. He was an amazing man, funny, caring, ready to give of himself in so many ways. I remember him teaching me to ride a snowmobile and how he laughed when I ran it into a fence. His son Barry was good friend of mine in high school, and had all of his dads great traits. My prayers are with the family.
