Obituary of Emily B. Havener

Emily Blake Havener Vernon- Emily Blake Havener passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017. She was born the daughter of Thomas E. Blake and Caroline Gross Blake on her parent's farm by Fall Brook on Gossner Road in the Town of Annsville, New York on February 22, 1928. Emily was a 1946 graduate of Vernon High School. On October 20, 1951 she married Charles Ralph Havener in St. Catherine's Church of Vernon, New York, Charles died May 27, 1978. She was proud to have been a great-granddaughter, granddaughter, daughter, wife and mother of farmers. Together with her late husband she owned and operated a dairy farm on Youngs Road, Vernon, NY, which is now operated by their sons as Havener Brothers Farm. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by a daughter, Linda (Mitchell) Pomerleau of West Eaton, sons, James Havener of Vernon, John (Debra) Havener of Vernon Center and David (Carole) Havener of Vernon Center, several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, one sister Helen Ernenwein of Vernon and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Blake of Vernon. Besides her parents and husband Emily was predeceased by one sister Dorothy Bennett and one brother Edwin Blake, one grandson and one great-grandson. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday July 21, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. Funeral services will be at 5:00 p.m. immediately following calling hours at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Irish Ridge Road, Durhamville, NY.
