Obituary of Catherine Anne Durant

SHERRILL – Catherine Anne Durant, age 78, of Kinsley Street, passed away on Monday, January 8, 2018, at the Oneida Health Care Extended Care Facility in Oneida. Born on March 9, 1939, in Oneida, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Katherine (Zuegg) Conley. Catherine was a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill High School. On April 23, 1958, Catherine was united in marriage to Stanley P. Durant at St. Helena's Church in Sherrill, and shared a loving union for 59 years until his passing this past summer on June 6, 2017. Catherine was a member of St. Helen's Church in Sherrill and was a deeply devout Catholic who loved her Lord. She was a director of religious education and delighted in teaching and sharing her faith. Survivors include: her son, Matthew (Carol) Durant of Oneida; her daughters, Melissa (Jeff) Chamberlin of Mendota, VA, and Mary (Stephen) Stich of Scotia; her many grandchildren and great grandchildren; her siblings, Lisa (Scott) Bridger of Sherrill, Robert Conley of Delaware, Mary Conley of North Carolina, Sheila (John) Thorpe of Eaton Brook, Patrick (Kris) Conley of Verona, and Thomas (Phyllis) Conley of Adams; her sister-in-law, Theresa (Basil) Ariglio; her son-in-law, David (Linda) Drake of Sherrill; and many nieces and nephews. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Stanley P. Durant; and her son, Martin Durant. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday January 13, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Helena's Church, Primo Ave., Sherrill, New York.
