Obituary of Rose M. LaGoy

Vernon-Rose M. LaGoy, age 86, of N. Sconondoa Street passed away Friday evening August 17, 2018 in St. Luke's Medical Center surrounded by her loving family Rosie was born on October 26, 1931 in Utica, New York a daughter of the late Jay E. and Pearl M.(Kimble) Widrig and was a graduate of the Camden Schools. On December 6, 1974 Rosie and Richard H. LaGoy were united in marriage in Vernon, New York and shared this loving vow of nearly forty-four years together. Rosie was a very talented cook and baker and was a former owner and operator of the Mason Jar Restaurant in Vernon and Mini Mason Jar Restaurant in Verona. She was a member of the Beacon Light Baptist Church and was a former Cub Master. Rosie enjoyed a day or night out to play bingo and enjoyed her stays at the family camp. She most enjoyed her times spent with her loving husband, her family and friends. Surviving are her husband, Richard "Dick" LaGoy, her children, Michael Balcom, Richard (Tracy) LaGoy, Richard (Terry) LaGoy, Christa (Lynn Curtiss) Jean, Renee (Dave) Royce, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Rosie was predeceased by one son Gerald Balcom and her siblings. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday August 22, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. A funeral service with Rev.
