Obituary of Helen (Blake) Ernenwein

Vernon-Helen(Blake) Ernenwein, age 81, formerly of State Rt. 31 passed away Tuesday morning November 6, 2018 in the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility with her family at her side. She was born on March 8, 1937 in the town of Annsville, New York a daughter of the late Thomas E. and Caroline (Gross) Blake and attended the Vernon Elementary School and was in the first graduating class of Vernon-Verona-Sherrill High School. Helen was employed with the Uebler Milking Machine Company of Vernon where she met her husband Irving. On May 22, 1971 Helen and Irving A. Ernenwein were united in marriage in Clinton, New York and shared that vow of forty-one years until Irving's death on September 10, 2012. She was a member of Holy Family Church of Vernon where she enjoyed volunteering for various activities. Her greatest joys in life came from being the greatest grandmother to her grandchildren and the greatest aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Surviving are her three children and their spouses, Gloria Ernenwein of Andover, Ohio, Peter and Karen Ernenwein of Canastota and Gerald and Maggie Ernenwein of Tupper Lake, nine grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Betty Blake of Vernon and several nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by her husband Irving, brother Edwin Blake, two sisters Emily Havener and Dorothy Bennett. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the third floor ECF for their compassionate care given to Helen during her stay. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY. Helen's funeral service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, NY.
