Sherrill-Rosamond Cerio Bennati was a beautiful soul whose kind spirit made people feel valued, appreciated, and loved. She cherished her family time spent creating art work, gardening, cooking, soaking up the ocean in LBI or supporting her grandchildren at their concerts, athletic events and school activities. Rosamond devoted her life to charity work for Catholic Charities, the Food Bank, St. Helena's Church funeral receptions, and knitting for hospital patients young and old. Her retirement goal was to give back to others each and every day. She was born in Syracuse, NY on February 12, 1944 the daughter of the beloved Lucy and Duke Cerio who predeceased her. She valued her education at St. John the Baptist High School and SUNY Oswego. Rosamond met the love of her life, Gene Bennati, at 14 years old and was married to him for 53 years building an everlasting loving relationship and unbreakable connection. She touched many lives with her kindness as an elementary school teacher. Rosamond had a creative spirit in whatever she embraced and she was a true artist at heart. She was adored and admired by her children, Brian Bennati, Jackie (Tom) Snizek, Sarah Bennati as well as her grandchildren Bailey, Lauren, and Brady Bennati; Emma and Jonah Snizek. Rosamond dearly loved her sister, Marie Perry, and brother, Dan Cerio, along with their spouses and children. Rosamond cherished her special bonds with Kimberly Bennati, Sally Daniels, The Betsinger Road neighbors, the Syracuse cousins, Book Club, workout group and so many family and friends. Rosamond loved gifting people with eclectic and whimsical socks. In honor of Rosamond's favorite gift to others, please consider bringing a pair of new fun socks to the calling hours to be donated to those in need.
