C. Robert Baker

Vernon- C. Robert Baker, age 80, of Peterboro Street and more recently of the Katherine Luther Home passed away peacefully Sunday evening January 4, 2015 in the St. Elizabeth's Medical Center.

He was born on February 11, 1934 in Oswego, New York a son of the late Charles and Louise (Putman) Baker and was a graduate of the Utica School system.

On November 24, 1955 Bob married the love of his life, Mary Anne Bikowsky in St. Josephs Church in Oriskany Falls, New York and the couple has shared a loving union of nearly sixty years together.

Bob worked as a master craftsman for Philip Thomas Lumber in Utica and retired from Ilion Lumber Company in 1999.

He was a former member of the Vernon Fire Department and a member of Holy Family Church of Vernon.

Surviving are his wife Mary Anne Baker, two daughters and two sons-in-law, Diana (Brown) White and her husband Scott, Shari (Louis) Kadushin and her husband Philip, one son Charles Baker, grandchildren, William Louis, Nathan Baker and Morgan Baker, his siblings, Reid, Jolene, Merylene, Charlene and Eric. He was greatly loved.

Bob was predeceased by one brother Arthur Baker, one son Robert Baker in 2009 and one grandson Charles P. Baker in 2008.

Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Mr. Baker's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon.
