Marjorie Jean Lacell, 85, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness on February 13, 2020, with her family by her side. She was born September 28, 1934; the eldest of five children to Warner and Margaret Kobler and was raised on the family farm in Vernon. She attended Westmoreland High School; graduated in 1952, and went on to finish her schooling at the Utica School of Commerce. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Oneida Ltd. Silversmiths in Sherrill. In 1958 she married Albert Eugene Lacell, her husband of 32 years. Marjorie was the loving mother of three children; Ronald Lacell of Vernon, Richard (Kristy) Lacell of Fort Meyers, Fla, and Diane (Mike) Rolewicz of Vernon. Surviving also are seven grandchildren; Amanda Lacell of Syracuse, Tara Lacell of Canastota, Megan & (Josh) Foss of Martinez, GA, Ben Rolewicz of Vernon, Shelby & (John) Davol and Kimber Lacell of Cape Coral, Fla, Richie & (Brooke) Lacell of Greer, SC. She is also survived by two great grandchildren; Brynlee Ellefson and John Davol Jr of Cape Coral, Fla. Marjorie was predeceased by her younger brother Wayne Kobler and surviving are brothers: Bert (Nancy) Kobler, Paul Kobler; sister, Thelma (George) Conley; sister-in-law, Eunice Eldridge; friend, Shirley Weller Marjorie was involved with sports of all her children. She was an avid bowler and participated in bowling leagues in Sylvan Beach, Rome and Oneida. She was a Sunday School Teacher and member of the Lowell Methodist Church. A huge NY Yankees, NY Giants and Racing fan (Dale Earnhardt). She was a loving and giving mother and grandmother. She never missed any of her children’s/grandchildren’s sports or events. She was a hoot who loved talking to people which made them laugh and smile. Marjorie will truly be loved, missed and never forgotten. Calling hours will be held at Malecki Funeral, 23 Front St, Vernon, on Sunday February 16, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. with funeral Service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home.
