Obituary of Anne K. Hunt

Vernon Center-Anne K. Hunt, age 95, passed away late December 22, 2020 after a brief illness. She was born on August 30, 1925 in Kirkland, New York a daughter of the late Lincoln and Edith (Clark) Kitchen and grew up on Skyline Drive and graduated from the Vernon High School. Anne married Vincent "Vinnie" D. Hunt on April 6, 1946 at the Lairdsville United Methodist Church and shared that vow of over sixty years until Vinnie's death on December 23, 2006. She and Vin ran the dairy farm on Hunt Road and Rottamore Roads for many years. Anne was a very active member of the Vernon Center Parkside United Methodist Church where she gave freely of her time. In her early career Anne worked as a hairdresser and after raising her children she worked at the V.V.S. cafeteria. Surviving are her family of four children, Rita Deal, Brian, Bradford (Marcia) and Jeffrey (Barbara) and son-in-law Frank Simmons. She leaves eleven beloved grandchildren thirteen great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Mary, Elizabeth, Catherine, Frank and Francis and many nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by her husband, "Vinnie", daughter, Rebecca Simmons and brothers; Eugene and Samuel. Because of COVID restrictions funeral services and burial in Vernon Center Cemetery will be private and at the families convenience. A celebration of Anne's life will be held at a date, time and place to be announced in the spring or summer of 2021.
