Obituary of Beatrice E. Eaton

Knoxboro- Beatrice Elizabeth (Tanner) Eaton, age 98, a lifelong Knoxboro resident passed away Monday evening January 18, 2021 in the Waterville residential Center. She was born on December 8, 1922 in Utica, New York a daughter of the late Warren H. and Emma L. (Daisy) Tracy and was educated in the Madison Schools. On June 15, 1946 Beatrice married Ernest B. Eaton in Augusta, New York and shared that union of over sixty-eight years together until Ernest's death on September 23, 2014. Bea was employed by the Madison School District as a teacher's aide until her retirement in 1989. She was known and loved by the students as "Beedie". Bea was a member of the Knoxboro Methodist Church, enjoyed traveling with her husband and the Oriskany Falls Senior Citizens, playing cards with friends and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Wilma (Tanner) Hewitt, husband Ernest B. Eaton and son-in-law Sheldon Strong. Bea is survived by her son, Richard (Martha) Eaton of Englewood, FL, daughter Dawn Strong of Knoxboro, granddaughters, Lisa (Tom) Burton of Oakland, ME, Lori Eaton of Wrightsville Beach, NC, grandsons, Mark (Veronica) Strong of Oneida, Michael (Katie) Strong of Knoxboro, great-grandchildren, Tanner and Mackenzie Burton, Peyton, Taylor, Baileigh, Brady and Rylee, Josephine and Carrick Strong. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 23, 2021 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY where CDC rules require a face covering and social distancing. A private funeral service will be held at the family's convenience. Spring burial will be in Skinner Cemetery, Vernon Center, New York.
