Canastota-Rose P. Lucarelli, a lifelong resident of Canastota passed away peacefully Wednesday morning January 20, 2021 in the comfort of her daughter's home in Sherrill where she most recently resided. She was born on October 16, 1921 in Canastota, New York a daughter of the late Mariano and Mary (DeVencenzo) Passante and was a graduate of the Canastota School System. In 1953 Rose and Ernest "Aldo" Lucarelli were united in marriage and shared that vow until Mr. Lucarelli's death on August 28, 1999. Prior to her retirement in 1984, Rose was employed with the Oneida Limited Silversmith's as an export supervisor before retiring to care for her grandchildren. Rose enjoyed her weekly trip to the casino with her sister-in-law Lucy, good food and watching television. She cherished spending time with her family. Surviving are her daughter Mary Ann Brockway of Sherrill, granddaughter Kimberly Brockway of New York City, grandson Gregory Brockway Jr. and LaToya Linen of Utica, her two beloved great-grandchildren, Kendrick and D'Angelo Brockway, brother Sam Passante of Canastota, sisters-in-law, Mary Lucarelli, Theresa Lucarelli, Lucy Lamkin, Jean DeRegis, Ann Twomey, brother- in- law Charles Lucarelli as well as several nieces and nephews. Rose was predeceased by her parents, husband Ernest, sister Mary (George) Awad, brother Nicholas Passante, sister in laws Josephine Passante, Kathleen Lucarelli, and brother in laws James (Louise) Lucarelli, Jim Lamkin and Robert DeRegis. In keeping with Rose's wishes there will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday January 25, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Helena's Church, 210 Primo Ave. Sherrill, NY with face coverings and social distancing. Burial will follow in St. Agatha's Cemetery, Lenox, NY. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Sherrill. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com.
