I consider myself lucky to have known Missy and her family through Chad and Kirstie and the birthday parties throughout the years. Missy had a soft-spoken, genuine personality as did you all. But, she also had one of the strongest fight attitudes you'd ever know. She fought her illness bravely, always keeping friends and family updated on her progress. Many would have given up, but Missy prevailed. It was very sad to hear she lost her battle. What I've learned is memories keep you going; the lost love one is always in your heart; sometimes it feels like they're still here (especially when you think - what would they do?). After Bob's funeral, I took the dog for a walk on the Erie Canal. Buddy stopped at the edge of the water where there was a pile of leaves. There was movement and the most beautiful Blue Heron came out. It was said there was a Blue Heron that lived at the canal, but rarely seen. The sighting of the bird means stillness and tranquility, to take a break, slow down and ponder things through. He looked at us briefly and flew away. The tears still come, they always will. Missy is looking down with love in her heart and appreciation for all you've done. Love and miss seeing you all. Stephanie Hamilton

This is how I remember my big sister... She was always there for me no matter what, looking out for me, covering for me to our parents (even when I was quick to tell on her), or just always there to listen. She always loved the holidays as you can see in the pictures, both when we were children, then when my daughter Madison was very young. She loved music, we would hang out together for hours when my parents made her watch me, listening to vinyl records on my parents “hi fi”. I miss her terribly already but even though we all hurt, she is no longer in pain. She has on a Super Girl shirt in the picture, probably that she got that day for Christmas and immediately put on like we would do. That sums it up for me, she is a Super Girl and now a guardian angel to me, her family and her many friends. She inspires me daily with the strength she showed in her long battle, and her compassionate and caring personality. The world was a better place because my sister. Love you always and forever sis.
