Obituary of Olive V. Croft

Sherrill-Olive V. Croft, age 78, a longtime Sherrill resident passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon March 6, 2021 in her home surrounded by the love of her husband, children and grandchildren.
She was born on March 18, 1942 in Dublin, Ireland, daughter of the late Thomas and Esther Stokes and was a graduate of Marymount, Harold’s Cross Road, Dublin 6.
On September 21, 1968 Olive and Richard M. Croft Sr. were united in marriage in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Syracuse, New York and have shared this sacred vow for fifty-two years together.
Prior to her retirement, Olive was employed with the Nationwide Insurance Company and in more recent years with the Oneida Limited Outlet Store of Sherrill.
Olive enjoyed gardening, going for walks, traveling and, most of all, spending time with her family here and in Ireland. She was a member of St. Helena’s Church of Sherrill.
Surviving Olive is her loving husband, Richard M. Croft Sr. of Sherrill, one son and daughter-in-law, Richard Jr. and Jet Croft of Sherrill, one daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Robert Enigk of Cazenovia, and her five beloved grandchildren, Lucas, Grace, Eva, Maura and Elizabeth. In Ireland, surviving Olive are her four sisters Gwen Dunne, Betty Stokes, Patricia Devlin and Mary Pollard and one brother, Thomas Stokes of England, along with eleven nieces and nephews. Olive was predeceased by one brother, Noel Stokes. Olive is also survived by brother-in-law and wife, Tom and Bonnie Croft, brother-in-law David Croft, and four nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday March 10, 2021 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY where face coverings and social distancing will be practiced. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Helena’s Church 210 Primo Ave., Sherrill, New York. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Oneida, New York.
