Obituary of Jeffrey G. Bortle

Rome-Jeffrey Grant Bortle, age 62 of Martin Street passed away late Tuesday afternoon, April 6, 2021 in the Syracuse Veterans Hospital after a long and courageous battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Jeff was born on April 19, 1958 in Oneida, New York a son of John Bortle and Sandra Glynn and was a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools.
From 1977 to 1982 Jeff served his country with the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed working and was a building maintenance man who liked tinkering with small engine repair and riding his bicycle.
Surviving are his parents, John Bortle of Oneida, mother, Sandra Glynn of Oneida, brothers; Stephen Bortle of Blossvalle and Donald Bortle of Sherrill, his two sons; Jeremiah Bortle of Sherrill and Shane Bortle of Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
