Obituary of Linda L. Finnerty

Verona-Linda L. Finnerty, age 70, of Kelly Ave, passed away early Thursday morning, September 15, 2022, in Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, after a brief illness.
She was born on January 28, 1952 in Oneida, New York, a daughter of the late Donald O. Sr. and Helen (Griffing) Cobb, and was a graduate of the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Central School District.
On July 12, 1975 Linda and Kenneth P. Finnerty were united in marriage at the Verona United Methodist Church, and shared that loving vow for over forty-six years, until Ken's death on October 16, 2021.
Prior to her retirement Linda was a dairy lab technician at Queensboro Farm Products and Dairylea Corporation.
She was a very active member of the Verona United Methodist Church, the Christian Ladies Circle, and was the Director of the Verona Food Pantry, where she devoted her time and energy to feeding people in need.
She was an exceptionally devoted, caring, and loving mother to her children, and grandchildren, who brought her immense joy. Official Title, "Bestest Mommy/Gramma in the Whole Wide World!"
Surviving are her beloved children and their spouses, Sean (Melissa) Finnerty of Verona, Cynthia (Lance) Aldrich of Rome, Christy (Sovann) Suos of Sherrill, Todd (Jennifer) Finnerty of Worthington, OH, John (Christina) Finnerty of Buffalo, Dan Finnerty of Minneapolis, MN, and Michael (Sarah) Finnerty of Oneida, her seven granddaughters and one grandson, three of her siblings, Sandra Kendrick of IA, Jennifer Cobb of FL, and Jeffrey Cobb of Sylvan Beach, and several nieces and nephews.
Linda was pre-deceased by her parents, and siblings: Kristen Troost of CT, Donald O. Cobb Jr. of Sherrill, and Sue Nestle of Rome.
In keeping with Linda's wishes there will be no services. In Linda's memory donations may be sent to the Verona Food Pantry, please make checks payable to VACC, PO Box 114, Verona, NY, 13478.
