Obituary of Barbara R. Powers

Whitesboro-Barbara R. Powers, age 57, of Tracey Street passed away early Friday morning, October 7, 2022 in St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born on March 16, 1965 in Utica,New York a daughter of the late John and Margaret (Young) Ryczek and was a graduate of the Whitesboro Schools. Barbara was employed with the postal service worker, as a barmaid and as a customer service representative with Apac Customer Service prior to her illness. She was a great cook who enjoyed warm weather and the bright sunshine. Barbara was a music lover and enjoyed listening to Elvis, the Band Queen and Joe Angerosa the Elvis impersonator. She was also a big New York Ranger fan and collected any Elvis memorabilia she could find. Barbara loved decorating for all the holidays and always decked herself out in holiday flair. Surviving are her three children, Danielle Powers of Canandaigua, Daniel Powers of Utica and Diane Powers of Rome,three beloved grandchildren, Ellie, Abigail and Darlene, five siblings, Gail (Gerry) Schrader of Yorkville, Fred (Bonnie) Ryczek, John (Pat) Ryczek, Bobby Ryczek and Eddie (Evelyn) Ryczek all of Utica, her very special person Robert Gabriel of Whitesboro and many nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her parents and two brothers Joey Ryczek and Michael Ryczek.
