Obituary of Kathleen M. Hyde

Sherrill-Kathleen M. Hyde, age 97, formerly of E. Hinds Ave. and more recently of the Oneida Healthcare Extended Care Facility passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 at the facility.
She was born on March 5, 1925 in Newcastle upton Tyne England a daughter of the late Robert and Maude (Anderson) Mallabar. When Kathleen's mother died at the age of thirteen her father remarried and she was raised by her father and Lucille Toliver. She graduated from Moria Schools and went on to attend Syracuse University.
On March 26, 1944 Kathleen and A. Edward Hyde were united in marriage in Claremore, Oklahoma and shared that vow of nearly seventy years together until Edward's death on February 13, 2014.
Prior to her retirement Kay was the secretary at Christ United Methodist Church of Sherrill. She was a very active member of the church and enjoyed knitting items and making dolls to be sold at the children's booth at the church's annual sale.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia (George) Russell of Deltona, FL, grandson, James Hyde of Sherrill, granddaughter Heather Russell of Fl,
great-granddaughter Tea' Hyde of Alabama, one brother Thomas Mallabar of Floyd, two sisters Mary Mallabar of Guilderland and Celia (John) Lough of Lexington, KY, sister-in-law Jean Mallabar of Burlington, VT, and several nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Edward, son Norman Hyde and brother Robert Mallabar.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, October 27, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 417 Park Street, Sherrill, NY. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the church with Rev. Glen Hardman officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Oneida, NY.
