Sherrill - Philip David Spencer, age 82, passed away Saturday evening April 8, 2023 in the Oneida Healthcare Hospital surrounded by the love and prayers of his family. He was born on September 28, 1940 in Queens, New York a son of the late Brian L. and Mary (Hoey) Spencer. Philip earned his Associates Degree in Dairy Plant Management from the State University of New York at Delhi graduating in 1962. He was employed with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, Division of Milk Control, retiring in 1995. On November 15, 1975 Philip and Sharon A. Ianuzzi were united in marriage in Syracuse and have shared this blessed union for forty-seven years. In his spare time Philip enjoyed gardening, growing strawberries, collecting coins and Hess Trucks. He enjoyed times with his family at the log cabin on Bradley Brook Lake and winters in Arcadia, Fl. with his wife Sharon. Philip enjoyed being a landlord and remodeling the couple's rental properties. Surviving is his wife, Sharon A. Spencer of Sherrill, four daughters and three sons-in-law, Anne Roberts of Denton, TX, Catherine and Marco Spoletini of Sherrill, Barbara and Karl Sandleben of Rogersville, TN, and Mary Ellen and Dale Michaud of Denton, TX, his beloved grandchildren, Alessandra and Francesco Spoletini, Dante, Karissa and Gianna Sandleben, Erin and Christopher Roberts, Grayson, Brian, Liam and Miles Michaud, three sisters, Jeanne Casanova of Rome, Sister Mary Spencer OP of Glendale, NY and Joan Spencer of Forestburg, NY, one brother-in-law, Michael Ianuzzi of Camden and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Walter, Brian Jr. and Michael Spencer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, April 14. 2023 at 10:00 a.m.at Holy Family Church, 4352 Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY with Rev. Christopher Ballard celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Helena's Cemetery, 1776 Middle Road, Oneida, NY. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Lung Association, 55 W.
