Sherrill-Arloene D. Martin, age 87, of Noyes Manor and a longtime Sherrill resident passed away unexpectedly after being stricken ill at her home on Friday, April 14, 2023 in the Oneida Healthcare Center. She was born on September 13, 1935 in Oneida, New York a daughter of the late Willis R. and Arloene (Case) Dorn and was a 1953 graduate of the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools. Arloene went on to further her education at Morrisville College where she studied nutrition and received her Associates Degree in human services from Mohawk Valley Community College. She married Nicholas "Joe" Martin on September 14, 1957. Arloene was a wife, mother and loving grandmother. She had various jobs in her life eventually retiring from Metropolitan Insurance Company in Oriskany then becoming a caring home health aide to many in the community. She was a member of the "Red Hat Society" and was an avid crafter, painter and loved solving crossword puzzles. Arloene had a pleasant personality, wonderful sense of humor and will be missed deeply by all including her many friends and "Noyes Manor Family". Surviving are her two beloved children, Julie (Steve)Wagner of Jamesville and David Martin of Rome, two grandchildren, Rachel (Michael) Fox and Nicole (Steven) Haunfelner and her devoted cat "Rusty". In keeping with Arloene's wishes the family will gather privately to remember her in their own way. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Sherrill.
