Obituary of Amy (Thurston) Graff

Vernon- Amy (Thurston) Graff, age 51 of Marble Road passed away Monday evening May 22, 2023 from injuries sustained in an ATV accident.

  She was born on June 29, 1971 in Oneida, New York a daughter of George F. and Shirley A. (Hubbard) Thurston and was a 1989 Vernon Verona Sherrill graduate.

  She received her LPN Diploma from the Verona BOCES graduating top of her class and went on to receive her RN Degree from Excelsior University of Albany and was currently employed at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

  Amy was a talented dancer growing up and went on to be a competitive dancer. She had a love for hunting, farming and her family and all her animals.

 She was a loving daughter who quit her job and sold her house downstate and moved back home to care for her parents. She was also busy working and running two farms.

  Surviving is her husband, Joe Graff, her parents George and Shirley Thurston, her siblings, Marney (Gary) Rowland, Dawn (Cliff) Fritzen and George Jr. (Teresa) Thurston, daughters Jamie and Christina, son; Joseph, grandchildren, Lilliana, Sadie, Joey, Dylan, Brielle, Havanna, Everly and Joseph. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

  Family and friends are invited to call Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home 23 Front St., Vernon. A brief funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. immediately following calling hours with Rev. Robert Casler officiating. Burial will be Friday, May 26, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. in Valley View Cemetery, 1776Middle Road, Oneida, NY. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
