Obituary of Eileen Kinnetz Froass
Please share a memory of Eileen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness that the family of Eileen Kinnetz Froass informs you of her passing on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Eileen was a wonderful woman who was loved very much, will be missed, and will be cherished always.
Eileen's story started on May 30, 1936, in Lakeport, New York, as the youngest of three daughters to the late Vernon and Gertrude Kinnetz. She was a graduate of Chittenango High School and SUNY Cortland. After graduation, she was a kindergarten teacher with the Chittenango School District.
She married Pete Froass on June 27, 1959, and they had seven children. Family was the most important thing to Eileen. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife and mother by filling her home with warmth, kindness, and cookies. She spent her life raising her children, treasuring every moment with them, and especially loving her role as Grammie to her 13 grandchildren.
She loved growing up on Oneida Lake and truly enjoyed spending summers at Whistle Wing with family and friends. She always looked forward to Sunday night dinners. Eileen was a longtime member of Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church. Throughout the years, she acted as a Deacon, participated in the Women's group, taught Sunday school, and sang in the choir.
Eileen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 63 years, Pete, and their seven children, Becky (Steve), Andy (Trish), John Paul (Sherri), Tom (Cindy), Bill (Kris), Peter (Mei), and Sarah (Simon). Grammie will also be greatly missed by her ten grandsons: Patrick (Meg), Matthew (Kelsey), Paul (Jennie), Thomas, Blake, Dillon, Henry, Aidan, Ansel, and William; her three granddaughters: Constance, Emily, and Perry, and by her great-grandchildren: Ruby and Noah. She was predeceased by her parents and her two sisters, Verna Pexton and Joy Thompson.
A Funeral Service in memory of Eileen will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church in Oneida Castle, with Pastor Kevin Bailey officiating. Interment will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at 10:00 am in the church parlor. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Cochran Memorial Presbyterian Church or the Oneida Lake Congregational Church
