Leesburg, FL-Clark Mills-Dorothy L. Edick, age 90 a former resident of Waterwheel Drive, Clark Mills, and a longtime resident of Deansboro and more recently of Leesburg, Fl where Dorothy moved to be closer to her family passed away peacefully early Friday morning, June 30,2023.
She was born on October 11, 1932 in Utica, New York a daughter of the late Frederick C. and Kittie L. (Brotherton) Harmon and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy.
On April 2, 1955 Dorothy and S. Virgil Edick were united in marriage in Vernon Center, New York and the couple shared this vow of over forty-eight years together until Mr. Edick's death on August 24, 2003.
For fifteen years Dorothy was a valued employee for the Salvation Army and took on any job with the organization that needed to be done.
Dorothy was a good mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Surviving are her four daughters and sons-in-law, Jean Warner of TN, Susan (Michael)Taylor of Leesburg, FL, Jackie (Thomas) Taylor of Leesburg, FL., Joanna Jones of Charlotte, NC, one son David Edick of NC, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her two sisters, Jane Buck of Clinton and Kitty Higgins of Virginia and one brother, Fredrick Harmon of Utica.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Virgil, son Lawrence, daughter and son-in-law Debbie (Arthur) Kervin, sister Patricia Carey, brother, John Harmon and best friend Marsha Pritchard.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon, NY, 13476. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon at the funeral home with burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, NY to follow. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
