Obituary of Suzanne M. Rosendale
Suzanne Clarklyn Moore Rosendale (Suzy), born July 12, 1942, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 8, 2023, 4 days shy of her 81st birthday. She is survived by her former husband Walter Rosendale and their two daughters – Kristen (David) O'Connell of Raleigh, NC, and Jennifer (David) Muraco of Murrysville, PA, her cherished grandchildren we call her Q&A Team – Andrew, Allison, and Aaron Muraco (who affectionately called her Nonnie), and Aidan and Quinn O'Connell (to whom she was lovingly known as Gramma), her brothers Kerk (Carolyn) Moore and Erik (Kathy) Moore, several cousins, nieces and nephews, her beloved cat Sam, and friends too many to count.
Born and raised in New Hartford, daughter of Clark W. and Lynda Moore, Suzy attended New Hartford Senior High School and received her Associates Degree from Penn Hall Jr. College. She married in 1965 and raised her family in Sherrill. She returned to school to earn Bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego and her Master's degree from Syracuse University in Library Science. Suzy spent many years as a teacher/librarian in the halls of VVS High School. She enjoyed a second career as a real estate agent where she took pride in helping people find their forever home.
Suzy's happy place was in the garden or any body of water, spending many summers camping with her family and casting her trusty fishing rod into Lake Ontario where no bass was safe from her angling expertise or her frying pan. Known for her punny retorts and her proclivity for tinkering, Suzy could fix anything with a roll of duct tape, a container of Velcro, and a wristful of rubber bands. Suzy also had a passion for antiquing and could never pass up a good garage sale. Suzy was devoted to supporting her grandchildren in their respective hobbies and was often seen at the baseball field cheering the loudest in the stands.
Calling hours will be held at Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY, on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 4-7 pm. Suzy's spirit animal is a cardinal; each time we spot one we will feel her shining presence.
I love you, Moore. I love you more
