Here are a few moments from Pete & Eileen’s life. I was blessed to be their daughter-in-law. They were always happy to receive a phone call or visit and hear what we were doing. Mom always had some of her famous cookies to share.
Dad and Mom cared deeply about their faith, family, friends, and their hometown in Oneida. Dad was a great businessman, and he loved working at John Froass & Son. He helped it continue to grow into the 4th and 5th generations. He was often at the store even after “retirement“. He treated customers with respect and helped me pick out furniture that I still love after 30 years.
In the Summer, they entertained many friends and family members at their beloved family camp on the North shore of Oneida Lake. Dad was always the entertainer, getting us out for a boat ride, fishing, golfing, berry picking, or a kayak paddle. He liked to start card games, ball games, camp fires or just a good conversation. Mom was usually busy baking wonderful pies, cookies, or cakes. She easily made meals for 20 to 30 people. She often enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and reading a good book, still managing to keep Camp clean no matter how many grandkids and their pets were running through it.
Dad & Mom will forever be in our hearts, thoughts and prayers.

We will remember Mom & Dad always, especially at Camp, one of their favorite places. Many happy memories were made here from Sunday dinners, birthday celebrations, and holiday picnics to making camp fires, playing in the ‘dirt pile’, fishing, boating & playing cards. We know their love & spirit will continue on at Whistle Wing or wherever their family gathers.

Pete & Eileen married on June 27, 1959 after meeting at the Froass Camp (aka Whistle Wing) on the North Shore of Oneida Lake the previous year. This photo was taken at the Orchard Cottage home on the South Shore of Oneida Lake owned by Eileen’s grandparents, later her sister Joy & brother-in-law Don, and now her grandson Matthew & his wife Kelsey. Pete & Eileen raised their family & lived in Oneida Castle until June of 2023 & enjoyed many summers with family & friends on Oneida Lake.

Pete Froass was one of the sweetest, kindest men I've ever known, as was his wonderful dad before him.
It was a blessing for me to have grown up knowing both of these gentlemen. I will always smile as I remember
Pete whenever I think of him.
