Obituary of James T. Rine

Sherrill-James T. Rine, age 68 of Sherrill passed away late Sunday afternoon March 10, 2024 in the Oneida Healthcare after a two-year battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on November 1, 1955 in Honesdale, PA a son of the late William H. and Louise (Wertz) Rine and was a graduate of Oneida High School. Jim was a former patrolman with the Sherrill Police Department and was a retired corrections officer with the Madison County Sherriff's Department. In his spare times he enjoyed hunting and being an outdoorsman. He spent some of his spare time shopping at pawn shops looking for a good deal and collecting items of interest. Surviving are his three sons, Jonathan Rine, Jesse Rine and James Jr. "Jimmer" (Kimi) Rine, one grandson, Collin Rine, three brothers, Marlin "Corky" Rine, Howard Rine and Earl "Rick" Rine and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, and three brothers, Larry Rine, William Rine Jr. and Robert" Bob" Rine. In keeping with Jim's wishes there be no services.
