Verona-Joyce K. Seifert, age 87, of Sconondoa Road passed away peacefully Thursday evening March 14, 2024 in the comfort of her home surrounded by the love of her family.


She was born on December 11, 1936 in the town of Westmoreland (at home), New York a daughter of the late Roy J. and Elizabeth C. (Williams) Kitchen and was a graduate of the Vernon Schools.


On March 4, 1955 Joyce and Paul U. Seifert were united in marriage in Vernon, New York and shared that loving vow of over forty-nine years together until Paul’s death on July 29, 2004. Joyce was a Dedicated employee of Oneida Silversmiths for 29 years.


Joyce enjoyed being outdoors sitting in her gazebo and decorating around her yard with real and artificial flowers. Her favorite times were spent giving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren love and affection.


She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Emmy Castle, Jody Roden, Lincoln (Kim) Seifert and Rick (Kathryn) Seifert, her beloved grandchildren, William, Heather, Chad, Garth, Jamie, Jennifer, Casey, Paul, Lincoln II, Steven Ashley, Juston and thirty-one grandchildren including great grandchildren and also a great great grandchild. Joyce also leaves three sisters, Carolyn Peck, Marjorie Coleman and Bonnie Barrett and many nieces and nephews.


Joyce was predeceased by her husband and three sisters, Joan Lampman, Sally Lawton and Virginia Malara.


Joyce will be laid to rest with her husband Paul in Verona Cemetery. A future celebration of life will be held for the family at a time and place to be announced. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to Maleckifuneralhome.com
