It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of Kenneth R. Krug, beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.
Ken was born in Rome, New York to Charles and Pauline Krug on December 19, 1938. He worked for General Electric for ten years before starting his own business as a master carpenter, using his craft to showcase his amazing talent. He retired in 1990.
He proudly served in the US Marine Corps for 4 years, stationed at Camp Lejune, North Carolina.
Ken was a quiet man with infinite patience and tremendous love in his heart. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoyed watching baseball and golf, as well as old classic movies, especially westerns.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, father and mother-in-law, John and Mary Wolfe, sister, Kathy Hubbard, brothers-in-law, Dale Champion and John C. Wolfe, grandsons, Samuel Macri and Charles P. Baker, and son, Matthew John Krug.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Joan; his family, Douglas (Corrine), Kevin, Christopher (Birgit), Cheryl (Karl), Mary, Theresa, Andrea, and James (Susan), his sister, Jeanette Champion, sister-in-law, Judi Ewald, as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 29, 2024, at Malecki Funeral Home, 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, New York. Graveside services will follow on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Helena's Cemetery, Middle Road, Oneida, NY with military honors In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Abraham House of Rome, 417 N.
