Obituary of V. Charlene Reed

Velma “Charlene” Reed, 90, of Clinton, passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

  Charlene was born July 13th, 1934 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Charles and Evelyn Sanders. A graduate of William A. Russell High School, she earned her bachelor’s degree at The University of Georgia, and her master’s degree at the University of Darmstadt while in Germany. She later married the love of her life, Earl “John” Reed, June 9th, 1967.

  She enjoyed decorating, gardening, ceramics, and most importantly, her grandchildren. She will be remembered by her loved ones for having a great sense of humor, her outgoing nature, her strong demeanor, and above all else, her independence.

  Surviving are her husband, Earl “John”; two daughters Sheri (Duane) Edmonds, and Michele Compoli; her grandchildren, Koree, Brina, Elijah, Anthony, Patrick, Danielle, Jason, and Dylan; and her five great grandchildren.

  She is predeceased by her granddaughter, Jalynn.

 Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, September 5, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. Burial will follow in St. Helena’s Cemetery, 1776 Middle Road, Oneida, NY. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
