Cazenovia-Karen B. Gabris-Omans, age 63, of Nelson Street passed away early Monday morning, July 26, 2021 in the Grand Health and Rehabilitation Center of Rome after a short illness. She was born on August 25, 1957 in Oneida, New York, a daughter of the late Eugene and Lois (Disanti) Gabris. Karen was a graduate of Vernon Verona Sherrill High School and received her Associates degree from SUNY Canton. In 1987 she married Craig Omans in Nelson, New York and from that marriage the couple had a son, Nathan Omans. Prior to her retirement Karen was a medical technician with Dr. Yaffa's office in Syracuse and previous to that she was employed with Faxton Hospital. In her spare time Karen enjoyed spending time with her cats and gardening flowers. Surviving are her son, Nathan Omans of Erieville, one sister, Lynn and brother-in-law, Dane Cole of Vernon and one niece, Crystal Cole of Vernon, her fiancé Daniel Reed, and many friends. There will be a celebration of Karen's life at a day, time and place to be announced. As a remembrance, if you can, plant a rose for her.
